People inherently want to help those in need. But so many don't know where to start, who to call, which charity is the right one, don't have enough time, think their donation isn't big enough, or simply say, "Once I have enough money I'll donate." Those days are over...the Make A Difference Network aka MAD Network brings people together to make a major impact on local community.
THE GOAL

100 MAD MEMBERS
Meet once a quarter to mix, mingle, network, and solve local problems by "Making A Difference".
1 HOUR
3 local charities or non-profits are nominated to present. Each MAD Network Member casts their vote for their favorite.

The organization with the most votes is awarded 60% of the money raised. With the other two taking home 20% each.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
I saw a similar program launch and have amazing success in Northern Virginia and raise over $11,000 in only an hour for a local Children's Cancer Foundation. Knowing this was the first of many chapters, I was eager to jump in head first and be the first in Dayton, OH to put something like this together to help our local community.
After stalking the founder online, through social media, and sending him an email, it became apparent that their intentions were unfortunately not just to help the local community.
My personal email to him was exploited to his database via newsletter where he made it clear that if I wanted to be a part of their "club" I would first have to go through their training program for six months at nearly $700/month, and then I might be considered a candidate.
This struck me wrong in so many ways. First, money doesn't buy trust. Only through actions can you earn trust, and even then it must be handled with extreme care and caution. Second, this put my community at an extreme disadvantage. If the goal is to raise $10,000 for a local organization or charity, waiting six months to even be considered could cost my community $20-40,000+. This is not OK!
So understand, this is not a ploy, this is not an exclusive club that you must pay to be a member of. This is about community helping community by making a larger impact together!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DO I BECOME A MAD NETWORK MEMBER?
Simple. Fill out your info on the Sign Up Page and you'll receive a welcome email with all of the details.
HOW ARE THE CHARITIES NOMINATED/SELECTED?
Charities are nominated by MAD Network Members. The cut-off for nominations will end 14 days prior to each quarterly event. Each charity must be a local registered non-profit and be able to provide success stories of local impact (no start-ups).
Charities can receive multiple nominations and this WILL increase their odds of selection.
If a charity receives multiple nominations, they will receive one entry into the random drawing for each nomination. After all nominations have been received, they will be thrown into a hat and three will be randomly selected.
After the lottery, the selected charities will be notified and asked to be present for a 5 minute TED style talk, where they can share their vision and success. Each charity will then have a quick 5 minute Q&A from MAD Network Members.
After all presentations, votes will be cast by each member, and tallied. The charity with the most votes wins!
WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT?
No problem. While you'll certainly miss an amazing event and experience. Let us know ahead of time, and we'll make arrangements to make sure your donation still makes an impact!
CAN I BRING A GUEST?
Heck Yeah! We encourage you to bring your friends, family, etc, but they should bring a check, as they will be asked to sign-up for the MAD Network (pledge) at the door, and sent their welcome package within 48 hours.
IS MY DONATION TAX DEDUCTIBLE?
Of course! Each of our nominated charities are properly vetted to ensure they are a not-for-profit charitable organization. You will be sent a receipt within 21 days for your donation from the winning charity.
IS THE MAD NETWORK LIMITED TO 100 MEMBERS?
NO! In the spirit of making a difference of our local community, limiting the network to only 100 members would only harm our mission to give! If at any point the network becomes "too large", we may decide to spawn new MAD Network Chapters to help inspire and Make A Difference in additional communities.
